Knock noise when clutch let out goes away when engaged
Howdy guys I just traded for a 1989 f250 great truck but I have noticed when the clutch pedal is let out there is a knock noise almost like a motor knock but when engage the noise goes away I heard some noise is usual but not sure if this is any help would be helpful thanks in advance
So, clutch pedal pressed in - no noise, pedal let out - noise? Is the noise present in every gear? Could possibly be a failed transmission input bearing.
I am a bit confused - "let out" and "engaged" are the same thing in my book.
Me Too. I think the post above has most likely interpreted the post. But still where is the knock coming from????? I also wonder if it could be a tranny going out. But a little more info would help.

ok so i ment when your foot is not on the clutch pedal it makes the noise and when the pedal is pushed in the noise goes away ive heard it so many different ways i guesss thats the easiest way to describe for me too thanks again for the input
If it is a knocking sound, and it does it in all gears, I am betting you have some missing teeth on your input gear inside the trans. If it is a growling sound, it's the input shaft bearing. Either way, the trans has to come out.
thanks for the help i found a 1992 250 with a c6 as a donor so i think im gonna do a swap and rebuild the standard trans any helpful tips on the swap or rebuild thanks
