Brake caliper and warranty question

Hi guys, i have a 08 250 with 23,000 miles and my driver side caliper is junk. My question is, is this part of the powertrain warranty? or is it just the 3 year 36k. This truck is really testing my patience. thanks Matt

Consult the owners manual but that would not be covered past the 36/36.

Senix, thanks for the reply, and thats what i thought about it not being under warranty. Between a caliper being junk at 23k and the lower blender door making noise ( quoted around a grand to have it fixed) this truck might be going bye bye. Thanks again. Matt

It's unreal that the failure of these is so common with low miles. Do you know if the new one's you got are constructed different? I wish i knew how to bleed brake calipers so i could do this my self. I guess the dealer is getting more of my money. Matt

they look the same......bleeding brakes is easy if you have a helper, swap out the caliper and install new pads, make sure you use new copper crush washers on the brake lines, with the truck engine off, have someone pump the brakes up until there is pressure and hold pressure on the pedal then crack the bleeder. The pedal will go to the floor, have them hold it until you close the bleeder, once its closed repeat that aboout 4 times until you are getting clean fluid and no more air.

I had a front caliper seize on mine too, but I just pulled it apart, cleaned it, and was back in business. Dealer was going to charge me $800 for front brake job. Cost me $0 and one hour of my time.
