'79 f150 302 c4 trans slip yoke
I have a '79 f150 longbed that i put a 302 in with a c4 and driveshaft from the same year and model truck, not sure if the driveshaft was out of a swb or longbed though, it's 1 peice 72.5 in long and has a super long slip yoke. the yoke seems to go in as far as my mustang with a 302 and c4. The yoke is extremely lose and i've put 2 new tailshaft bushings in with no luck. Anyone have the Ford part # for the yoke ? Also did longbeds come with 1 peice slip yoke driveshafts-i mean how much shorter would a shortbed driveshaft have to be ?

Whats your wheel base, one or two piece shaft? Here's what the book says; The number of shafts and U-joints used depends on the vehicle type. Some vehicles used a one piece slip-yoke that is splined directly to the transmission ext housing and slides back and forth in the housing. Others use a coupling shaft in conjunction with the drive shaft.Care must be taken to align the shafts. The two piece system incorporates a necked down coupling shaft stub with a blindspline feature which assures positive phasing. All two piece drive shaft vehicles are equipted with center support bearings that are perlubed and sealed for life. look up your wheel base and get back to me.
