Hey Guys, I have a 97 F350 Dually with the 7.3 and 98,000 miles. 99% of its use is pulling a 7500lb fifth wheel camper. People keep telling me I would get much better fuel mileage and more power if I were to put a aftermarket chip in the computer. Is this true? What is involved and a ballpark figure on how much they cost. I'm sure there are probably many on the market. Have any of you used them and what kind of results did you get? Thanks, Mike
I would recommend gauges first as well. We can get you setup with both(chip and gauges) if you are interested. Check out all of our 7.3L tuning products HERE.
Just something to think about... If you expect huge mileage gains from a chip you may be disappointed. The two main contributing factors to mileage are driving habits and the overall mechanical condition of the truck. Intake and exhaust may help a little as well.
Feel free to contact me with any questions you may have.
