Sinister Diesel External Oil Filter System

I'm sure I could find it,, but toss us a link. I wonder how much oil it adds to the oil change,,, and how much the filter is, and the flow rate/micron rating, compared to stock. I actually like the oil filter setup tho,,, just sux to pay $20 for some paper n plastic. It prob costs $.60 to make it. Lol. I actually made a call to a company that advertised in diesel power, that was selling a cleanable oil filter that used surgical stainless steel as the filter element and he said one can of brake cleaner would prob do 2 filter cleanings. Anyone else see it??

Here is a quick little to the point article from Shell and the makers of the FS2500 bypass oil filtration system. They filter out much of the soot and smaller particles left by the 20 micron plus free flow filter on a sampling basis. Google bypass oil systems and read away. As is the case with the coolant filters, all the big rig diesels have them but the smaller trucks don't only as a way to cut manufacturing costs.

I ran the Amsoil dual oil filter bypass for a lil bit a couple years ago. I was not impressed. I tried it tho. The truck started cutting out at about 10k miles. So it didn't last long with me. I sold it on eBay. When I get a sec I will find a link to the oil filter I was talking about. It's just a stock location filter that's aluminum n stainless. If it flows n filters n fits like oem,,, it'd b a cool $20 in my pocket every week.

That's exactly why I did mine. Still change it every 5K. Feel allot better knowing I'm keeping the oil cleaner by removing the soot and smaller particles. Keep meaning to get an analysis done but haven't yet.
