Looking for part number - numberdummy?

Hey, I am looking for the part number for the nut that hold the steering wheel on my 1970 C600.

I have the parts manual and can find it in the picture part, but not in the actual parts listing part.

The picture part shows it as a 382892-S but I cannot find that section in the parts list section to see what the real number is?

Thanks, David

That is the part number for that nut. Many nuts, bolts, pins, etc. (hardware) use part numbers just like that. The -S means that the nut has a "plain" finish- it is not plated or anything.

Illustrations in parts catalogs that have Standard (hardware) parts shown, do not include the complete suffix in many cases.

The text section is required to verify if the standard part number has an additional suffix after the S (as you can see).

Text-Section 36 - Page 4 (towards bottom of page) - 3600 WHEEL ASSY-STEERING

382892-S2 .. Steering Wheel Nut - 3/4" -20 x 1 1/8" / Obsolete

If searching for this puppy on parts locator sites without the 2 .. lotsa luck finding it, because it's an invalid part number.

DON SANDERSON FORD in Glendale AZ has ONE = 623-842-8643.

WESLEY OBSOLETE PARTS in Liberty KY has TWO = 606-787-5293.

GREEN SALES CO. in Cincinnati OH has FOUR = 800-543-4959.

Much thanks NumberDummy. I think I could like to be 100 and still not know as much as you do.
