Flasher in the fuse box is the turn signals. Flasher by the glove box, is for the 4 way flasher.

Usually when a flasher stops working, the lights go on when the signal is depressed, but does not flash.

The dash lights are a 5 amp fuse in the fuse panel that is only hot when the headlight switch is on

As in a previous post, you should get a Chilton's or Haynes manual. there is a wealth of information in there.
I also recommend getting an owners manual for it. If you look on Ebay, or Amazon for a used one, they are usually around $10-$20, and well worth the cost

Do your hazard warning lights work but the turn signals don't?If they do swap the flashers and then try your turns signals, then look and see if any bulbs are burnt out.
As old as your truck is if one turn signal light is burnt out you might as well replace all of them, the rest will be burning out soon and new ones don't cost all that much so that's one less problem you'll have down the line. And you won't have a cop pulling you over for having some non working lights.when you're 16 you've got a big target on you for the cops to see. Most are okay, but ALL of them are suspicious of young dudes because of drugs, gangs and other stuff.
Or you can swipe the known good flashers out of your Dad's truck with his permission and try them in yours.

The turn signals dont work when the headlights are on. They work when the headlights are off.

I hate wiring but that sounds like either a bad ground or a poor connection somewhere.Somebody good at wiring could probably check a schematic and see if the two circuits tie in together somehow and give you a clue of what and where to check.
You are making progress in getting the symptoms of what works, what doesn't work and when they do or don't when narrowed down. From there you can start diagnosing the problem(s),which I've always found to be harder than doing the actual repair.
Does your Dad have a wiring test light and a volt/ohm meter?

Ya my dad does have a tester. We think it is a connection, because the people who had it where not smart. First they overfilled the coolant, and they did not have the battery cables tight they were just sitting over the positive and negative posts. They also didn't know how to hook up a radio they just clipped all of the wires.

If the turn signals work with the headlights/park lights on, you have a blown out bulb. I would go ahead and replace all 4 bulbs.

Make sure that no one has made a poor trailer connection in the wiring at the back.Typically people make a mess out of the wiring harness back there, and cause a lot of problems later down the line

Ok thanks. My dad thinks it is the blinkers, the stell thing in the fuse box, because when they get hot they stop working.

Just so you know, the steel thing is called a flasher,a lot of people call turn signals blinkers but if you walk into a parts store and ask for blinkers you'll get some funny looks,at the very least.
