Steering wheel not returning to center Help!!

Hi all,
My sons truck started acting up tonight.
95 F150 4x4 ext cab, short bed 5.8 liter 115,000 miles (truck is in good shape)

He complained the steering began not returning to center tonight. Power steering still works, the steering wheel just does not return to center like it is supposed to.

We replaced the front coil springs (2 months ago).

Power steering fluid level is fine, no known other front end issues or parts replaced, running 30 x 9.5 x 15 inch tires.

Where do we start looking?

Any help is very much appreciated!!

Robb

Check the front wheel joints (U-joints on the axle shafts).
They got seized up on my truck and made it hard to steer. My steering wheel wouldn't return to center I had to turn it back. that may be the problem. Hope this helps.

Check the link in my signature relating to the Steering Box, the Box can be adjusted, maybe you should look into that.

I would be very cautious adjusting the box but yes it is possible. Is it possible (and I ask because I have a 19 year old son) that he hit something and isnt telling you? This is usually a gradual problem that develops over time and not usually and instantanious thing. You may be replacing the power steering gear box if somthing has come loose inside. Usually as they wear you get slop in the steering not tightness.
