Just curious as to everyones opinion on the longevity of a 6.4 after 150k and beyond. My brother is looking at one.

 

There have been a few in around 200K or more. Maintance is important and a warranty on an unknown motor would be wise.

I'd bet it's fine. Probably no major issues until much higher mileage. A family member of mine has a 2008 F250 with the 6.4 that they bought new in early '09. Right around 140k now and still like new. No issues at all. Only thing the truck's had are oil changes, fuel filters, and tires. And he's only changed the oil every 10-12k miles.

Also, that thing is used for hauling all the time. Has had plenty of heavy bed loads and towing.

He gets about 14.2 mpg average.

 

MIne has 115k miles, I got a new radiator around 15,000 miles. Mine is bone stock no tunes and DPF on. Oil and filter changes every 5k miles or 30 days, which ever comes first.

What'd he pay? Kind of like to know since I have the same truck.

 

I have pushing 140K on my 2009. Recently put a new radiator in it. So far.... that has been my only issue. Been changing oil every 5000. Have done trans twice.
