At least you're making progress Jeff.

Rich, that sounds good if my termite treatment doesn't put me in the broke as a joke house. My wife thinks she seen a termite this morning and our house is stick frame on a slab. I'm not looking forward to the expense of that project if it is a termite.

I got a fair amount done on the Caddy. The o-ring for the thermostat housing was too thick and when I went to tighten it down, I snapped the housing in two. $50 for a new housing. This is on top of the $60 thermostat extension tube that was cracked. Jeff, are you paying attention? I have to get a set of spark plugs for it to, so I can get the rest of the top of the engine together. I friggin' HATE new cars. I'll be glad when this is gone.

Evening all.

I've got a weird request for y'all. My cousin has spent 24 years looking for his grandfather's John Deere tractor. He finally found it, but it was in pretty poor condition. He just discovered that the cylinder head is cracked and he is now looking for another. If you know of anyone who might have a cylinder head for a two cylinder John Deere 1942 model A - PM me the information and I will forward it to him.

Yeah, boy oh boy......ouch. sorry for the pain this car has caused you...and me for that matter.

Spent some time with ol Big Red today, got him new shoes on the back and he needed 1 new drum and the other one is getting done and will be ready in the morning. I'm excited to get some new parts on Red. I always like working or piddling on him.

Drove the Monte Carlo SS around some today. Parked it out of the grass. I might put it on the trailer and move it to the back to save on car space out front. I'm still debating.

I need more garage space or a big barn!

Jeff. I was cramped on space and I just started selling everything. I got plenty of room now.

It's gonna be a couple days before I can get the T-stat housing if the dealer doesn't have one, so I'm gonna get back to the Chevelle.

Yup, I'm already up and moving around. I went to bed at 2100, woke up wide awake at midnight, rolled over and went back to sleep. At 0200, I woke up again and could NOT get back to sleep. I finally just got up and made a pot of coffee and some strawberry shortcakes at 0400.

Running about an hour behind. Putting the headlight switch in the Chevelle took longer than expected this morning. I should be on the way to work...oops.

Waiting on O'Reillys to get my brake drum, then going to get it and get Red back together today.

Might drive ok Red to my son's football practice. I at least need to take him for some fuel. Sure do hope the brakes work better with the new drum and one that they turned for me.

I know its not going to stop like the Caddy, but at least quick enough not to run over the car in front of me if I had to stop fast.

Hello, Gary!

I just popped in for lunch. The dealer had the T-stat housing so I picked that up today and got a set of plugs for the Caddy.

I also got most of the Chevelle roof stripped down to bare metal, so I should be able to squirt some primer on it tonight or tomorrow. I was afraid of what I was going to find. It turns out most of the ugly on the roof was four dead paint jobs that were all checked down to the metal. After an 80 grit massage, the roof looks pretty good.

(For the record, Chip and I are working on two different Chevelles)

I don't know what Chip's working on, but I'm trying to finish up a '64 SS. I started a complete restoration in August. I hope to have it wrapped up by June 1.

Oh, I got lazy and ran Alice through the automatic car wash today. I'll never do that again. I was wincing the whole time. She's just a tad too big for that. (and I barely made it out with my radio antennae attached.)

Hand washes from now on. Eh, I had to try it just once, right?
