That's pretty cool. I've always wanted to ply around with an electric car. One of those in a fox body or a falcon would be fun if it would fit. $4000 for an electric crate motor doesn't sound too bad, but what's all the additional parts like batteries/controls/etc gonna cost? Seems like one of those deals it'd be cheaper in the long run to buy a whole parts vehicle if you could.

It's coming. We all know that. I'm just pissed off that it's being rushed faster than it can be accommodated, and that we're the generation that's got to go through the evolution pains. And you can bet that it's gonna be hell. Many of us will go broke in the process.
Imagine a one owner company that has a fleet of heavy duty work trucks. Or a farmer that has heavy duty trucks. The way this E business is being recklessly pushed forward, it will soon get to the point that those farmers and such can't afford $6+ a gallon fuel for their existing vehicles, and can't afford to convert their fleets to electric. Then biased and corrupt governments will heavily subsidize new business "entrepreneurs", and the existing business owners will be phased out. The same effect will be felt by individuals, both with our own vehicles and with the inflated prices of everything else.

I hate it. Not the electric part. I hate the visible modern parts like the interior and the headlights.
The Brits do a much better job with classic Jags. Basically you’d be hard pressed to tell it’s electric until you miss the sound of combustion of course. Check out Lunaz.
I have nothing against electric and wouldn’t be against converting a Dent if the cost and range was comparable. I think that’s 10 years off yet. But looking at my conversion you’d never know it was electric.

I looked a bit into converted EV Rangers a bit ago. Seemed like the problem was that the easily sourced/affordable batteries for these mods are FAAAAR less efficient at kWh/kg than anything you get in a modern production EV... so basically range and efficiency are really really bad.
And we don't need fusion to solve energy problems, though it's definitely good to keep building towards. Modern Fission reactors are damned good. We just need governments to get out of the way of their construction (Oh and we need grid improvements. We're going to have a crisis on our hands in the next 20 yrs if we don't start putting a TON of money into those immediately).
