76 f150 4x4 np203 problems help!!!!!!!!!!!!
My truck when in 2wd hi "or unlock 4 whatever you want to call it" it chatters hard and wants to jump into 4 lock while driving , the chattering sounds horrible! I've adjusted the linkage and no difference
And when I disconnect the linkage and shift the lever on tr case to 4 lock, it clicks in nice but pops out when in drive? , if I hold it in it stays
Not sue what to do at all, I know my shifter assy is worn out, do I do a twin stick conversion?
Also truck has np203 and also has manual locking WARN hubs, not sure if transfer case is converted to part time or if someone just put in manual hubs
Any help or direction would be appreciated, truck is driving me insane lol

NP203's with part-time conversion kits are notorious for this...
It's usually because the shifter wasn't adjusted (or not adjusted correctly) after a part-time kit was installed and the t-case was run with the gears not fully engaged, eventually wearing down the teeth until they no longer stay in gear.
The easiest fix is a NP205
