The aluminum ***** address the weak link in the factory lockouts, which is the plastic ****.... there's not a lot of "meat" where the pin goes through the **** and it's easily broken, the aluminum **** would prevent this.

I've never broken a plastic **** but I come across a lot of broken ***** in the junk yards, teeth marks left on the **** from pliers are the tell tale sign it's probably broken inside.

I run a power matic hub. Also called selectomatic. These were made in the sixtys seventys as aftermarket lockouts. They are a full grip selector. (Your whole hand) not your forefinger and thumb. internally they were all steel. Nothing better so search your junk yard.
