I'm not sure what the D stands for, but is was originally painted teal on the lower half, and white on the upper half.

1957/63 truck parts catalog (final edition 1970-on a C/D) is sadly lacking in paint colors, so I dug out my 1957/63 bound paper catalog that was printed in 1964.
