Hi Adam,
I'm Sally in Sydney... I've just bought a 48/49 COE F6 in the US. Will be shipping it out in the new few months - I'm very excited!
Everyone on here are tops! Always happy to give some advice, which can be super helpful, especially for us Aussies! I for one feel like I'm on the wrong planet when it comes to awesome Ford Trucks! But these guys really bridge the gap which makes life so much easier!
Look forward to watching your project progress!
Sal

That is the part number for the bracket, not a serial number or anything useful. I believe this is the part you are referring to, the shock upper mount bracket?

Well, progress on the new workshop build was a lot slower than expected and repairs on my other car are taking longer than expected so no progress on the truck yet.
I have been doing plenty of planning though, picking up ideas and the equipment to execute them, as well as speaking to the transport authority to make sure I can actually do what I plan!
Yes I will be. I can get it registered as LHD but it causes problems for parts if something breaks, especially if you're interstate on a cruise or something.
Hi Sal. I don't have the room for a COE, but they look tough. Resto or hotrod? Be sure to make a build thread.
Looks like it. Thanks so much for posting that. I've found ways around my seemingly missing number now.

Well, heading for 3 years on, I s'pose I'd better make an update!
I got my new garage built, then the HR broke, then I fixed it, then it broke again, then I fixed it, then something different broke...you get the idea. Thrown in there were house renovations and an engagement, all the while the truck has sat collecting dust (and plaster and all sorts of other bits, the tray is currently full of insulation!).
BUT! I have been planning and collecting ideas and last Friday collected the first major bits!
I did have grand plans to run a macpherson strut front-end but after pinching one of the work cars and running a tape I didn't think it would work. Then along came a 1979 Daimler Sovereign on Gumtree with everything available but the engine. A couple of trips to the guys place for negotiation and I came home with a trailer full of IFS, IRS and wiper motor.
The Jag bits decided to leak oil almost immediately to remind me of what I'd done.
I finally found a use for my electric hoist I'd put in 2 years earlier.
Then put the bits on a dolly, pushed them around behind the shed and covered then in a tarp for another day...
So, not really an update, the truck hasn't moved in 3 years, but I am making a collection of bits, I've kind of figured out the "look" I want and I've almost reached the point where I can get the HR out of the workshop and get the truck in!
I have an operation next week which will see my workshop hours limited until January, we get married in February and go to the USA for 5 weeks from Easter...so expect an update in another 3 years... ...hopefully not.

Hey Adam,
Welcome back! Keep up that momentum!
You need some wins to get back at it. Personally I'd start on the easiest part of your build & start
doing a little bit every week. I think the rear end is a lot easier than the front. It won't take much to
get a new rear axle set in there. The bed floor is also pretty straight forward.
Hang in there - good luck on your operation! An upcoming wedding is a good reason to get back on
your project. If your Aussie weddings are anything like here in The States - you will need somewhere to
hide out. Otherwise you get to go shopping for towels, dishes, uggghh..
Good luck over there in Tasmania!

Thanks Jimmy.
Cheers Ben. I did spend my wife (to-be)'s kitchen money on a new workshop so I needed to do some stuff around the house before getting back into the cars.
We've built cars from nothing before, quite looking forward to this, it will be as much a road-going track-car as I can make it for the budget I have.
If I didn't have to have my stupid leg operated on I'd have the front-end in before January!
