Need some help with my '92 F150

It's a 5.0, E4OD, 2WD, SCSB.

Recently drove it 1,500 miles and it ran like a top. Gas mileage better than ever after new TPS. Cruise control (vacuum type) worked flawlessly for 800 miles.

Then day two, everything still great, but NO CRUISE CONTROL, and it seems that the torque converter is also not locking up. As most of you know, it did not make a big difference on Fuel mileage, but it was irritating to lose the Cruise Control.

I've done a bunch of searching on both Converter lockup and Cruise not working, and I've seen a bunch of things on faulty brake pressure switches on the end of the Master cylinder. Well, the '92 does not have one of those. It must be something common though, that inhibits both functions, and I keep coming back to the brakes, or brake lights to be more correct..

Any ideas? All of the tail lights, brake lights, flashers etc., all work. The truck is now up north while I am down south, so I can't physically check anything, just want to know where to concentrate my efforts when I get back to the truck.

Thanks in advance!

What does RABS stand for. What are all the circuits controlled by the RABS?

Thanks Puddy. I'm 100% sure it has to do something with brakes, since that would affect both TCLup and the Speed Control. It has been finicky for some time, only to then work well, so... I've suspected some electronic issue. I'll check out the RABS when I get back to the truck. Sorry it took me a while to respond, but I'm traveling on business and have not had a chance to get back to the board.

RABS - Rear Antilock Braking System. Only on 92-93 F150's and Bronco's. Not sure about larger trucks. I'm not entirely sure what systems it interfaces with, but I know it goes with the speedometer circuit, as they share the same sensor in the rear axle, the cruise system and because of the speedometer interaction, the transmission as well I would guess.
