A week later the truck seems to be either missing and/or shifting hard. It threw the code U0101 Lost communication with Transmission control module. I deleted it and havent seen it since. I also added a bottle of lucus. it helped some but the truck only seems to do it bad when I go to get on it. Also, my truck seems to stay in Regen. It'll say "drive to clean exhaust filter" and then "cleaning exhaust filter". it does then every time I drive it. Since it started doing this my mpg dropped from 12.4 to 8.8 mpg.

Any ideas as too what going on? Is it possible that the tranny problems are from the tcm? and my bad mpg from a stuck erg valve?
First lets start with the regen, how far are you driving it. To complete a regen you need to drive 15 to 20 miles, preferably highway miles if it's been having to do partial regens. You can check to see if it's still in regen by hitting the buttons on the dash but not having to deal with it so long I don't remember which, but somebody will chime in with that.

As fas as adding lucas to it?? Lucas what, I take it you added it to the fuel tank, check the bottle, if it has alcohol in it don't use it, and if I remember Lucas does, use diesel clean or Ford fuel conditioner, nothing that contains alcohol.

I'd also change both fuel filters, Ford brand only, see what happens, also drain your water separator at least monthly.

I complete the regen 9 times out of ten. It tells me exhaust cleaning complete. Then turns right around and says drive to clean exhaust system.

The Lucus I added to the transmission. It was the transmission additive to help with hard shifting and missing. Like I said, it helped some but not completely.

You running a tuner on this thing...is there a dpf on the truck?

How many miles on it. Maybe there is some warranty?

No tuner, I just got the truck two weeks ago. it's bone stock. no deletes. 201,000 miles

I'm kinda hoping that dpf and erg delete along with exhaust will help clear things up. I just dont understand how one tank of diesel I get 12.4 and pretty much over night it drops down to 8.8.

Plus the tranny is kinda bothering me too. I'm pretty much expecting a rebuild. I just wasnt sure if a sensor could cause slipping OR if it had something to do with the fact that the transmission is a learning transmission. I am no mechanic by no means, I appreciate everyone's help

Get a trans flush and new filter from Ford or Fords quicklane..not jiffy lube or something.

Ensure they use the proper ATF. Check the owners manual for the correct type of fluid.

Take it out on the hwy to finish the regens.

I agree with the trans filter
You said earlier that you were finishing the regens so either you delete or figure out why the constant regens. That shouldl fix the bad milage.
