really bad vibrationsin my Ford F 150 1994 just started a few days ago over 265 000 miles

so I have a 1994 Ford F 150 I believe that I am the third ownerokay so my truck started vibrating really really badly the other day it doesn't matter with speed I'm at I am a carpenter by trade and have little knowledge of the mechanics of of vehicles but with the right help our information I believe that I can make any repairs necessary so hopefully you guys can help me out I took a look at the rear end and I noticed that where is the drive shaft come then to the rear differential I have a gap right where the u joint joint the rear differential housing okay so I just Jacked up the rear passenger side of the truck and I tried to turn that wHell back and forth and I noticed that the Gap went in and out like the drive shaft Was sliding in and out of the differential

U joints should have no play in them . They should also turn freely with no binding in their movement . Any play or binding is bad .

With the truck in nuetral, brake set grab the drive shaft with one hand and the yoke on the rear end with the other. You should have no play between the two.

To post pics you need to upload them to the internet. I use a site called photobucket. (free) Then you copy the image location from photobucket and paste it in the respond box here.

In your first post you said it vibrates at any speed. Can you feel it even at parking lot speeds? If so it sounds more like a separated tire than a U joint.

Most likely a tire. If you feel it in the steering wheel its most likely the front, in the seat the rear. If you jack it up and spin the wheel you should be able to see the tread squirm. It helps to have someone spin it while you watch from the front or rear.
