Anyone with actual experience with electric fans on a 300?

My mechanical fan is really loud and seems like it would be a lot for this engine to turn. I feel like electric fans would be the way to go and it would be a pretty basic install. I did a search but couldn't find anything other than mechanical vs electric debates.

I know that electric fans need a thermostat with a sensor I believe, the gas mileage will increase because the motor isn't spinning the mechanical so an increase in power also arises. the only problem that I see is is that the electrical fan kicks on and off and you never know when it will turn on... I've had the same thoughts but for my 5.8

I'm pretty sure I have the newer style one and if I don't, I have one off a 302 laying in my office.

I'm seeing a lot of different control units out there. What's the most cost effective one to go with?
