Confused

Hi,
I'm new on here.
I have a 92 f150 with a 5.0 that will crank but won't start. I fo have fuel an spark. I have put a me computer and a map sensor in it an nothing. So I replaced the pip in the distributer an also I checked timing an it was in time so I do t know what else to do??

if you have fuel and spark have to checked intake or air filer for blockages

Try pulling the codes to see if any come up. Also, did you make sure to use a computer that is compatible? What came out and what did you put in?

You're lacking something. How did you check the timing? Spray some starting fluid in the intake to see if you can get a little response out of it.

I changed the chain and sprockets and made sure it was at TDC after I was done the distributer pointed at #1 and I tried starting fluid, got no response.

Did.you make sure it was on compression side on these trucks you can line it up on the exaughst side even if you line up the marks

Pull the number one spark plug and put a finger in the spark plug hole just to cover it have somone bump the.motor when it hits the compression side it should blow your.finger away then turn motor by hand with a ratchet extension and socket till t he piston is top dead.center.then.check the.rotor position see if.its at number one. If its on exaughst side it will point directly.180 degrees from number one

Ok an if its a 180 off I can just redrop the distributer correct?

Yes. Don't bump the engine over with the starter with your finger in the spark plug hole, you may get one good shock. That would check your spark though.

Also another question if I buy a 87 5.0 can I put it in my 92 an use all my same conrections to the computer an TPS all that stuff??

Idk you maybe able.to i tried.that with an 86 to 90 and have.nothing but.problems
