Hi,
I'm new on here.
I have a 92 f150 with a 5.0 that will crank but won't start. I fo have fuel an spark. I have put a me computer and a map sensor in it an nothing. So I replaced the pip in the distributer an also I checked timing an it was in time so I do t know what else to do??
I changed the chain and sprockets and made sure it was at TDC after I was done the distributer pointed at #1 and I tried starting fluid, got no response.
Pull the number one spark plug and put a finger in the spark plug hole just to cover it have somone bump the.motor when it hits the compression side it should blow your.finger away then turn motor by hand with a ratchet extension and socket till t he piston is top dead.center.then.check the.rotor position see if.its at number one. If its on exaughst side it will point directly.180 degrees from number one
Ok an if its a 180 off I can just redrop the distributer correct?
Yes. Don't bump the engine over with the starter with your finger in the spark plug hole, you may get one good shock. That would check your spark though.
