Help me find this part at Tousley Ford - picture inside

These two dash vents are broken. The part in the middle no longer directs air, looks like they've been snapped off where it clips in.

So I figure the vents probably come as one whole unit. I can't find them on ToulseyFordParts.com under the HVAC section.

Can anyone locate them?

I can't get into Tousleys catalog, but I found it at Horizon Ford (roughly $30 each). Try this route, not HVAC route:

BODY HARDWARE / INSTRUMENT PANEL / INSTRUMENT PANEL / Air outlet vent

[ 9 ] BODY HARDWARE / INSTRUMENT PANEL / INSTRUMENT PANEL / Air outlet vent
air outlet vent outer, black Right
PARTS: Order by color.
MSRP Core ? Online Price
$42.43 $0.00 $30.55

[ 10 ] BODY HARDWARE / INSTRUMENT PANEL / INSTRUMENT PANEL / Air outlet vent
air outlet vent outer, black Left
PARTS: Order by color.
MSRP Core ? Online Price
$41.85 $0.00 $30.13

[ 11 ] BODY HARDWARE / INSTRUMENT PANEL / INSTRUMENT PANEL / Air outlet vent
air outlet vent center, black Right
PARTS: Order by color.
MSRP Core ? Online Price
$41.13 $0.00 $29.62

[ 11 ] BODY HARDWARE / INSTRUMENT PANEL / INSTRUMENT PANEL / Air outlet vent
air outlet vent center, black Left
PARTS: Order by color.
MSRP Core ? Online Price
$41.13 $0.00 $29.62

BTW: I had to guess on model year...I used 2001.

Great, thanks! I was able to find them using the trail you posted. About $27 each at Toulsey. My local dealer quoted me $65 for one!!

Tousley Ford does well

I have called them before and over the phone had trouble figuring out which part.

so he said to give him my email and he emailed me the pic they look at.

then when I called him back we were looking at the same pic.

What color is your dash? I cant really tell from the pic.
I have some good vents that I pulled from a charcoal grey dash if that is what you need.

My dash is grey.. I am not sure of the color name though. I ordered some gauges from riffraff and my interior color is Medium Flint Grey but that is the color for A pillar. The dash is a darker grey. Truck is a 2003 7.3 F250 Lariat.

Think they'll match?

Should be the color!! I am Medium flint as well, and yeah the center portion of the dash is the charcoal color. Should be good to go!

I think Chris is correct, sounds like we are talking about the same color.
I found the box with the vents. Two are in good condition but the third one is broken. Each duct is different in regards to where the mounting tabs are located so I will send all three and hope the two good ones are in the correct ducts. If not, it looks like you might be able to pop out the register part and move it over to the correct duct.

Since we are on the subject, here are some pictures.
Notice how each duct has it's tabs in different mounting spots. I figured they all would be universal but I guess that didn't work out for some reason.

(sorry for the crappy pics....my cell phone is on it's last leg. )

I wish I knew her!!! Heck, I'd be a horrible shot if I did ! (so I could continue lessons of course)
BTW, I was just confirming color, Greg is the one that has the vents...I already gave reps to him too (in case the police have your hands tied).

Thats interesting Greg... I wonder what the reasoning was for that I've never checked, but our vents do all move the same in both directions right? like 70* both right and left, and likewise for up and down? Maybe just the way everything needed to be stuffed under the dash, who knows!! Some engineer obviously decided it was best... However, being construction, I've learned that architects and engineers should never be trusted, hahaha

Yeah, as far as I can tell all three vents have the same amount of articulation. I have no clue why the mounting pads are in different spots. There has to be some reason....it surely adds extra cost so it probably wasn't by accident.

I would really like to meet some of the original designers of these trucks. First thing I'd do is pop my hood and ask them to hand me the tire changing tools. I still can't believe that someone thought that was a good location for those things. It's not like there is any heat nearby.....and of course we all are blacksmiths by trade so handling red hot molten iron with our bare hands is tons of fun. Crazy engineers.

I have 2 buddies that are Mechanical Engineers by trade and they will admit that not only do they not consider how it gets worked on in the field, they pretty much get paid NOT to worry about it. I tossed them both in the water for that.

OK, so I looked at the parts a little closer. The ductwork pieces are unique, slightly different shape. Which makes sense because the dash bezel is curved and the path to the climate control trunk is different for each vent location. In light of that info, it would be practical to make the mounting tabs unique to avoid assembly mistakes.
