I have a crazy idea that might just work..

My PATS disabler for the remote start isn’t working. I held the key against the ignition, it started right away. That’s what got me to thinking…

I recently bought a used 2008 F-350 KR, it only came with the ‘spare’ key. Am I off the tracks for thinking that I can tie wrap the key I have to the PATS transducer and use a un-programmed key? <O</O<O</O

Should work.
BUT you loose the PATS andI would think if it gets stolen and the
insurance co finds out about it there may be problems.
You know how they are. Any way to not give money back.

In my 2000 ranger back in the day. I took the key apart. And zip tied the transponder pill to column. Worked beautifully!!

you can also just the an RFID clone made off the key so you aren't actually putting a key in your truck.

Have you tried trouble shooting the system first? If it isn't working there has to be something broken, and anything broken can be fixed. I would try fixing the existing system before finding a way to avoid it. Plus if you do it right, you learn a thing or two about the correct way of fixing the bypass and can pass down the knowledge next time someone has the same problem.

I have searched pretty hard and heavy with no real results. My remote start is dealer installed with the gold remote. Thats about all I know.

bummer. I figured somebody had posted about this before. I assume the dealer wont diagnose it for free even though they installed it?

I am sure they will look at it, but I am not a big fan of dealerships.
