1977 F-250 2WD/4WD Frame Differences?

Are there any significant differences between the frame of a 2WD F-250 and a 4WD F-250?

I've got one of each, and the body damage to the 2WD is significant enough that I'm going to commit to it being my parts truck.

I want to do a "frame-up" restore of my 4WD, and started thinking if it might be easier to part the 2WD down to the frame, and then start building it up to be the 4WD, moving what I want/need off the 4WD as the project progresses.

Cool, I'll look around more myself - didn't see anything after a quick look, I'll try to dig deeper tonight...

first what are you trying to do here? are we swapping body parts? drivetrain parts? if you are wanting to swap body parts just unbolt and go. as for the cab need to measure the back body mounts.

From the firewall forward the frames are pretty much completely different.

If you want to build a 4X4 use the 4X4 frame. It will be easier, quicker and save you a lot of money. All the body parts will change between both.

Here's an idea .. It takes time to do a frame off restore and do it right .. You could swap all the body over, not that hard to do and run it as 2wd until you get your current 4wd frame done ..
