Tailgate Striker Bushings

I replaced mine today and I am having trouble getting them adjusted so tailgate shuts right. Any tips?

I'm sure there is a good procedure somewhere....I did the following...Torx, I think T-50. I left the passenger side loose. Set driver's side almost tight to where glass enters the top gasket with little movement. Lowered it to check to see if tailgate would open and close and glass raise again. Tighten it. Tighten passenger side. Check operations again.
