door ajar indictator please help!

when i bough the car i went on a test drive and everything was fine, once i bough it and went home my fiance opened the passanger side door to get in, and every sense than the door ajar light is on and the inside lights will never turn off and its draining down the battery, we have tried slamming the door shut and we just dont know what to do, theres not even a sensor botton to check out theres no way to tell what it could be for me as when i open the door to check out the botton like most vehicles do, there isnt one, what could it be? please help going thru batteries quickly!

The switch is in the door.
Spray some lubricant into the latch/jaw assembly

The door latch and jaw assembly, I call it anyway, WD40 can with a straw and stick it in and around every nook and cranty of that thing and just spray the heck out of it.

Don't overlook the fact that it may be the OTHER door. Spray both of them down real good then open and shut them about 15 times....it'll work. Stick with the WD #40 at this point so you don't ruin your paint or such using "who knows what". Even if the switch fails, I know on my truck after like 30 minutes it times out and they go out regardless....( Built in safety so battery won't get drained completely).

One ck .If you put the key in with the door closed and the dinger goes off , it is your driver door switch . The switch cams into the latch . It can be changed ,or unplugged . You have to remove the door panel to acces . They are a booger to change with the latch still on the truck .

I was having the same problem ... door ajar ... with all door securly closed. It was driving me crazy. I came across this web site and discussion others were having about the problem. A few sqirts of WD40 in each door lock and presto, no more problem. So I decided to join the forum and share some of the other issues I've encountered thay may help others.
