Super Duty Fog Lights

Super Duty Fog Lights
My new F250 did not come with fog lights. I would kinda like to have them and I'm certainly capable of crawling under the front bumper and putting them in. I'm just wondering if the wiring harness is already there and just no lights were installed at the factory, and is the wiring harness to the switch also there so all that is needed is to replace the light switch on the dash panel?

Yes, the wiring harness is already under the bumper. You just remove the plastic covers, insert the fog lights, run about 24 inches of harness to the center of the bumper and plug it in. wa'la. Then jump in the cab, pop out the headlight switch and install the headlight/fog light switch (just pops out and plug in new one) Took about 20 min to do mine, and thats because the bolts are tricky to get to under the truck.

Great place to buy parts is Tousley:
Tousley Ford Parts Depot
Great prices and they're a site sponsor here at FTE as Jay mentioned above.
Here's their profile link here on the site:

I googled the part umber for the kit and ended up looking at one on ebay so I could see a photo of what actually comes in it. Te lamps, bezels and harness are all straight-forward, but there also appears to be some kind of large assembly. To you guys who have installed this kit, what is that large item?

EDIT: just checked the listing, I think that is if your truck does not have DTRL, or auto lamps, or one of those.
PM: FORDSVTPARTS, and he will be able to look up your vin and see what you need. Steve is his name.. Real good guy, ordered a few things now.

The -BA kits sell right now for between $170 and $212 on Ebay. The -AA kits run between $257 and $305.
The switch is a direct swap. Open the drivers door and... On the left side of the dash (drivers side) the end panel will simply pull away from the dash at the rear and swing out to expose the inside of the dash. Reach into this area and depress the tabs on the existing light switch (you will see them on the new one). This will allow the switch housing to move out of the dash. Once the switch housing is out of the dash, unplug the switch and plug the new switch in. Then push the new switch into the hole in the dash, replace the dash end panel.

Check out this thread:

One guy had plug and play capability, with no module required, on his XL trim level 2012 and another guy didn't.
Subscribed and anxious to see what develops.

My truck didn't come with fogs either. So I opted to try the rigid industries dually lights. This is them installed on a raptor, but I essentially did the same thing with a bracket that I made. I will snap some pics from my truck later.
Well worth the money. Lights up the ditches so much better. Depending on how you have them aimed they can outshine the headlights. I don't have any pics of them on my truck just a comparison of the lows vs low w/ fogs.
Low beam only
Lows w/fogs
I shopped around and got a pair of the spots and a pair of the flood beam pattern for $300 total.
Thanks
Jake

OK, my fog light kit came this week and I'm looking through the components and reading the instructions.Everything looks straight forward except I have a couple of questions. They sent me an ambient light sensor with instructions on how to pop the plug and replace it with the new sensor. My truck already has auto lights, and it looks like a light sensor is already on top of the dash. Do I just ignore that step?
Second question.. The instructions indicate that the BCM has to be programmed, but it appears that all of the programming pertains to the ambient light sensor. So, since I already have the sensor, Do I just ignore that step also. I just don't want to get everything hooked up and find out the dealer has to do this or my truck won't start or something else terrible..
