New Guy New truck 53-f100
Hey everyone I'm new member, my name is John Im down here in N. Florida, I finally bought the truck I've been waiting for. Picked up a 53 f100 two weeks ago seems to be in great shape. Ive been looking for one for a few years, and finally came across the right deal. Someone was doing a restoration on it and never finished it. It has an early model 302 and auto I'm guessing out of late 80's early 90's mustang. Its about 75% complete I plan on rewiring it and doing an IFS suspension. I kind of jump the gun and bought a 04' crown vic front end and a set of mustang 20" wheels after doing more research I realized that the front end and wheels I bought aren't going to fit under the truck. So Im in a little bit of a pickle. The wheels are of a 03 mustang and realize that only the 05+ wheels will work. Will any aftermarket 05+ wheels fit?
Thanks John

Welcome to the forum John, and thanks for the pics. We're looking forward to seeing more! I'm afraid I can't help you on your suspension swap, I like them the way they were made. My friend Gary (Project-55) has an excellent build thread that might help you. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...0-project.html

Thanks for the reply I've read Gary's build (more than once) he does awesome work. I am trying to decide right now which way I want to go either ditch the CV setup and go with a full aftermarket suspension (which is not really in my budget). I like the original set up to but everything needs to be gone through breakes, stearing. I figured it would be a better bang for my buck. Thanks again.

Hey Dubs,
Welcome Aboard! We went with a No Limit IFS on our '50... It's pretty pricey - $2.4K for parts & some labor to get it welded in... Not sure I'd do it again. I'd be tempted to get the stock front end totally refurbished & add some front disc brakes.
Good luck over there. Good plan to get it running & drive it - aren't those Tampa Bay Buc colors? Could be your new team!
