Cut the bed from the truck today. Fun times with a wire brush ahead.

yeah, not bad at all. It was originally a cow feed truck in east Nevada and the PO said the bed was totally hammered from the salt blocks they would carry. Did not seem to work its way to the frame at all. Wire wheel, pressure wash, Loctite Extend and a coat of paint. Then a temporary wood flatbed until I decide what I want to do. Notice the shortened frame...the PO converted it to a short bed

Ok, so the frame from under the bed is cleaned, rust inhibited and painted. Ready to start fabricating the temp flatbed.

Certainly not progressing as fast as I'd like but I'm about ready to start putting her back together. New front brake lines are bent and ready for fit check today. Engine cleaning/re-painting still in progress.

Hey Rocketman,
It's looking good over there in Utah! You'll feel a lot better once it starts going back together. I noticed some real live headers in your pic gallery - what's your plan for the engine?

239 Y block seemed to be running good when I pulled it so only refurbishment. Engine cleaning is making good progress. Exhaust manifolds have been sand blasted and POR15 applied/cured. Cross over is on back order from Sac Ford. All other engine parts cleaned/primed and painted. A bit more cleaning on the block itself, paint (yellow) then its time to put back on the frame with new motor mounts (The old rear mounts looked like they had been in a fire with the rubber just a gooey mess). I hope to have it on the road later in the fall.

Hey Rocketman,
My hats off to you for taking apart a truck that was running & fixing & upgrading everything! It took almost 2 years to get our's back into operation with a lot of help. I like your engine plan - will be beautiful when you are done!
