Well, I finally have the tank on the ground and the ring off. The fuel pump is a 2 part I guess you could say. The bottom half of the pump sets right on the bottom of the fuel tank. The bottom part acts like it is attached to the bottom of the tank. My question is what is the secret to getting this off or is it not suppose to come off? I know though when I buy a new one it is 2 parts. Do I just get mean with it? One nice thing is the inside of the tank is nice and clean. Thanks for any help or idea's!!

 

on my 99 you have to push the two tabs at the bottom together to release the pump...was`nt hard to get out at all....my pump came as a whole unit also not two pieces....I shined a flashlight down into tank to find the tabs they did`nt stand out with just the daylight
