I have a 1991 F250, 7.5 Automatic(i believe a E4OD) 4x4. I had the transmission rebuilt a year ago, I've recently replaced my TPS and gear position sensor.
When I hit a bump or it goes to shift it'll throw a check engine light and stall out. Sometimes it kicks right back on, others I have to roll off the road and pull the negative termial off the battery before it starts again.
I ran a the Key on test, got codes 21, 26 and 24. I ran the test with it running and got 77, 74, and 65.
I havent checked the codes when it stalls, mostly because I'm going up I-95 or I 70 in Maryland and I really want off the side of the road there. lol
We have had computers on this site that would do that and when shut off for a while would let the engine restart and run again for a while and then do it again.
I think they have had bad caps in the computer. Some posters have replaced the caps for about $2.00 and that seemed to have fix it.
