Has been a rough couple of days. Have gone from being told Dad had 6 weeks to live. (Which was a total screwup), to being moved to the therapy section.

Looking forward to getting Dad back on his feet as and out of here!

Thanks all for your moral support!

When you first turn the key on, do you hear the fuel pump cycle?

Not to sound ignorant, but do you have gas in the tank?

On the driverside fender is the tfi modual. Right by the firewall. under the speed control computer. Is it black or grey? what about the parts truck?

try switching the 2. Your fuel signal gets interupted by the distributer, and if you have the wrong tfi, the truck will only prime the fuel system, but not run

That is the power for the distributer. It used to be on the distributer, but it got way too hot, so ford put it in a heat sink over on the fender.
Color of the tfi is important, you can not use a black one where a grey one belongs, or a grey where a black belongs.
They also have a high failure rate.

If the TFI fails, you have no spark, and no spark keeps the fuel pumps from running

also check your ECM fuse as well. it'll crank but won't start. i'd start there first. i have on some of the older models moisture will get to the ECM which is on the left side and right behind the inner fender in the cowl. i have seen that before.

the one on the 350 is grey the one on the 250 is black......would it be easier if i just took off the harness on the swapped motor and put the old one on the new motor??
and if i put the black one on the green truck is their other things i have to change as i already put the original brain back on the truck....
further more does the black on belong to that distributor?
