need help identifying this front diff Dana 60F

Hi,

I'm new here, I was hoping someone can tell me something about this Dana 60 I just bought. From my investigation, this may have come from a 1977 F250 crew cab. I need to buy brake caliper rubber boots and alum piston. The casting says Dayton. The boot has a number 69340596. The caliper casting has a number (best guess): 00710382. Please advise what part numbers i need so I can purchase brake repair kit.

On the tube, near the pumpkin, is the BOM. if you lightly sand or wire wheel, you should find it. That # would be really helpful for telling what exactly you have.

what size was the pan cover bolts that will help also. and does it have kingpins or ball joints.

I'm no expert, but it's a low pinion which means pre 78 correct? My friends 76 had the same axle. I also read that 76-77 had disc brakes, pre 76 had drum.

Bingo! it's a low pinion D60... open knuckle, king pin, disc brake, from a 76/77 Crewcab.

Thanks Guys! I was able to get the BOM and indeed it could be from a 77 crewcab. Now for some more questions:

Can someone share part numbers or links to EXACT item I can buy piston cups (Dayton dual pistons), repair kits? The alum piston diameter is 55.4mm.

I live overseas and don't have stores that sell these items here. So I will order them over the net and need to be precise otherwise it will be more expensive to return the item.

Also, the diff ratio is 4.10. I want to buy a 4.88. Can anyone show me links to where I can get R&P? I believe there's a standard and reverse cut. Don't know what I have/need.

Precise: What is the Dana BOM number? / 1976: There are TWO different types of dual piston calipers, TWO different types of caliper pistons.

D6TZ-2120-A .. Dual Piston Caliper Repair Kit (1 required per side) / 1976/79 F250/350 & E250/350.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
D6TZ-2194-A .. Caliper Piston-Use with Dual Piston Caliper marked: 69710332 / Obsolete

Applications: 1976 F250 2WD/4WD & F350 / 1976 E250/350.
----------------------------------------------------------
D2TZ-2194-A .. Caliper Piston-Use with Dual Piston Caliper marked: 69710382 / Obsolete

Applications: 1972 F250 2WD & F350 w/optional dual piston caliper disc brakes / 1973/79 F250 2WD & F350 / 1976/79 F250 4WD / 1979 F350 4WD / 1976/79 E250/350 (E = Econoline).

These parts are obsolete.

I'll list the sources that have them NOS (that will ship 'across the pond' to Cebu, Luzon, Mindoro, or wherever) once I know which caliper pistons you need.

1976: First year for disc brakes w/4WD. 1959/75 4WD's have drums.
