Need 1973 Ranger XLT Trim help
I'm searching for an XLT horn button cover like this one in wood grain. The brochure shows a blue Ford logo:
A replacement I found here shows just a brown insert:
Does anyone know which way it came? Is it that sometimes sales brochures aren't really exactly what the released product ended up being? I guess on the horn cover I can paint a blue background into that brown insert and paint in the white Ford script but there still is the issue of the chrome oval around the logo like the brochure has. Silver paint never turns out "chrome" looking. It seems in the brochure that it is chrome dipped.
Anyone know the NOS Ford part number on this to compare?
The 1973 seems a tad more picky than other years, as another example are some radio ***** and wiper ***** that some parts sites claim are for a 1973 really are for a non-XLT or for another year. Sure, they'll fit a '73 but doesn't mean they are correct.
In that same picture that has the horn cover from the brochure, you can see that the ***** have a black textured spot, not just an all chrome ****. Same with the little square ***** for the A/C controls...a little black area. Those sort of nuances. I'm looking at originality as much as I can.

D3TZ-13A805-B (replaced D1TZ-13A805-B) .. Horn Bar-Includes Switch ~ Walnut Wood Grained Finish / Reproduced
Applications: 1971/77 Ranger XLT, 1974/77 Bronco Sport, 1975/77 Econoline Chateau (except 1975/77 F100/350 & Econoline with Speed Control).
Carpenter has it, only 125 bucks (outrageous!) = 800-476-9653.
GREEN SALES CO. in Cincinnati OH has TWO = 800-543-4959.
But, these might be Carpenter repro's. Call and ask.
--------------------------------------------------
1971/77 Custom/Sport Custom/Ranger, 1974/77 Bronco (base), 1975/77 Econoline (base): D3TZ-13A805-A (replaced D1TZ-13A805-A) .. Black Camera Case Finish / Repro'd
1976 Ranger XLT's only had a "tobacco" (brown) option package. Upper side mouldings had brown instead of black vinyl inserts, upper tailgate finish panel-brown insert (instead of black), horn bar was also brown. Fugly!
Carpenter also has the brown bar, but his applications are wrong (1971/77), cuz it was only used in 1976. When I first noticed one a these new trucks, it looked more like 'baby poop' brown than tobacco.
