2002 Expedition needs new 4R100
Can I use any 4R100 transmission? F150, 250, Navigator, E-series vans all have years they used the 4R100. Can I use a tranny form any of these vehicles as long as it is a gas vehicle?

Not sure but one thing to look into is if you have a 4x4 your going to want the transfer case to mate up, and you want to check the length of the transmision to make sure its the same for the drive shafts. Check out this link it has great diagrams of parts. May not completly answer your question but hopefuly useful in general.

As long as yo go with the same 4r100 (E4OD) from the same type 4x4 or 4x2.
A.T., 8-330 (5.4L), (4R100), 4x2 (ID 1L1P-AC)

You can go to car-part.com and do a search of local salvage yards and can see the prices,mileage,and what the trans ill come out of. From what I can see s that the trans sould fit from 2001-2003
