Anyone have a Portapump?

It's some kind of hand pump tool for installing springs. 10 ton I think is what is required. Does anyone have one in Houston?

Thanks.

Thumbs up

Not me brother. I think I would not mind using one of those tools however I would be tempted to install the hardware compresion bolt on system as a safety measure. Just in case.

Is this what your talking about?

nope, it's a port-a-power. it's something similar, but it's usually hand-pumped, and it's not used to compress the springs. it's used to push the control arms further apart from the frame, so that it creates enough room to slide the new coil springs into the slots.

kinda like reverse engineering. it's like common practice for the 3/4 ton and up vehicles. u dont compress the springs but u make room for them to fit. i'm speculating that this became common practice since the coil springs on the super duties are actually much thicker than the standard coil springs found on 1/2 ton vehicles and below. hence, the compression tools will not be able to grip on the coil springs completely, and tat can be extremely dangerous. damn thing will be like a loaded gun.
