Chrysler Engineering on my 1974 F350?

So I am doing brakes on my 1974 F350 Tow Truck and I find left-hand threaded lug studs on the left rear. I have never seen this on a Ford, only on Chrysler products in the 60s and 70s. Chrysler believed this kept the torque of the axle from loosening the lug nuts. My question is this - did Ford do this from the factory for the same reason? Or did the Holmes people do this when they put the wrecker bed on it? My 1975 F350 parts truck does not have them.

I'm not sure about the tonners but every truck I've been around one and a half ton and up have the left handers on them. I've been in the trucking industry most of my life and the one or two trucks I've seen that were not like that the lugs had been changed by the owners.
Next I go out to the woods i will check my '66 tonner but i'm bettin' it will be just like yours.

Genuine Ford left hand threads on the left rear, genuine Ford right hand thread on the right rear. Same parts 1970/79 F350: DOTZ-1107-A Right & DOTZ-1119-A Left .. Hub Bolts.

So I guess somebody along the line changed the LHT studs on my 75 parts truck to RHT. Both trucks are dually chassis-cabs.

This subject came up a short while ago and I can't remember any of my 1 ton duallies having left hand threads on any tire and that includes the 78 and 89 f350's that I currently own. Could it be that Ford thought Canadians were leftist enough so they only built us right handed trucks to straighten us out?.

My 74 F350 has the left on the rear driver side and right on the passenger side.
