So my ABS modual is trash, The guy i bought it from also pulled the fuse to stop it from constanntly surging and acting up. it's been like this for a few years he says. I think i just want to remove the ABS system since it is trash. How would i do this? Will it affect any other systems such as the speedo, ODO?
Or maybe you should just try to see what's wrong with it might be cheaper with fewer head aches. And I guess I have never heard of the abs actually working on our trucks.
What year? We talking bout the OBS truck in your avatar? If so, just unplug and remove the control module. If you somehow find messing with hydraulic lines enjoyable, you can also remove the RABS valve on the driver side frame rail and splice the lines together... but you could also just leave it alone. I left mine in, I figured it ain't hurtin anything so I'll just leave it unless I have to work on the lines in that area.
It won't mess with your PSOM (speedometer/odometer module) unless you also remove the speed sensor on the rear axle. The RABS controller is piggybacked onto the signal coming from that sensor, and in my case it was actually messing with the signal and making the PCM see bad data, so I ditched it.

I must have the only one then, because mine works perfectly any time it's called for.. (Waaaaaaay too many idiots on the roads these days!)
Yeah, agreed on the idiots topic. Especially down here during the seasonal yankee invasion.
I don't feel the need for anti-skid... I learned to drive with NO antiskid/traction/stability systems. It didn't work on my truck anyway... bad module. Junkyard module was bad too, so I just gave up and have no module at all.

So did I. Rear ABS is definitely an improvement (you still have to pump the brakes as your front end loses traction, but the rear end won't come around), and 4-wheel ABS is even better (you gotta stand on 'em to get stopped on a very slick surface, but they work).
Had trouble with my rabs (93 f150,see signature) was locking up the rt then lt rear brakes. Tried to clean and rebuild hcv but no go. Ended up removing hcv and connecting lines together and pulled fuse and bulb for abs. Works good, have better brakes than before just will lock up both rears if you stab them too quick.
