Disc Brakes...Who has DONE the conversion?
Who here has done the conversion from the link below? Using a 1" master AND those exact calipers? I've been fighting this POS truck for two weeks now and cannot get the pedal to feel remotely stiff. EVERY website (including the write up below from here) says to use a 1" master. According to the parts store websites, those calipers were the fit for the manual disc/drum master I tried first (1975 Chevy C10), but the pedal felt like mush. I then went out and threw more money at it putting in a metering valve and a residual valve, with absolutely no change in pedal feel. The LAST LAST LAST thing that I can think to do is to try a 1 1/8" master that ECI recommends, but that goes against all the websites I mentioned before.
I just want to hear from people who have DONE THIS and used these parts. On a scale of 1-5, where 1 is a pillow and 5 is a rock...how hard is your brake pedal?
How much travel before it gets stiff?
Thanks.
