We took a trip to our cabin this weekend and on the way back my dads CALI truck took a crap. I spent the better part of today changing his fuel pump for him only to find out its the fuel dampener. For those of you with Cali trucks you know how fun it is.
Tomorrow morning we will be scouring the US for one once ford opens.
If you're in this area and have one or know of one my dad would love to hear from you.
Our other option is to put a federal lines and banjo bolt on it.
Ill check back here.
Thanks Ryan
I have a fuel dampner around here somewhere. I'll need to spend some time and try to locate it. I may have just got tired of it sitting around and tossed it out.
Just wanted to give everyone a heads up that we located one in Reno. I appreciate the fast responses. For the future it can be plugged. I thought it mounted differently than it does. I didn't even look at it yesterday because we thought it was the pump.
If it helps anyone in the future. Turbo doesn't have to come off. I was determined to do it with out removing. Disconnect fuel lines from back of head!!!
I have a Cal truck but have no idea what a fuel damper is. Is it part of/near the fuel pump? Haven't had to go there yet.
If you're asking about the truck in your signature it won't have a dampener. They were used on the OBS trucks to smooth out the pressure pulses cause by the mechanical fuel pump, Your SD has an electric pump that doesn't need one.
