South Tx tech day 2013 #1

hi guys and gals...
a tech day is tentatively to happen right after the first.
its looking like the best locations to centralize this shin-dig will either be
Victoria, Tx
or
Yoakum, Tx

there is much more room at the farm in Yoakum but we will be on generator power.
we could potentially do a 2 day thing if anyone has major surgery to perform.
plenty of room for tents, 5th wheels, trucks, tools, ice chests, and beer. we have a shooting range area on site if anybody feels like wrenching on trucks doesnt quite release enough testosterone.

attending:

twg1966
Nicmike
christof13t

so far on the list we have

2 frx install
bellowed uppies
mini turbo refresh
power steering flush

dont be scuurd to add your name and what your bringing to work on to the list.

I want to add the Hutch/Harpoon mod for mine... I should have most of the other things we were talking about mostly finished by the time this rolls around.

I have FRx, turbo rebuild, non-EBPV pedestal and exhaust housing install, up-pipe donuts, new HPO lines, fuel bowl rebuild, HPOP o-rings, new fuel lines on both sides and maybe a new 4 inch exhaust system on the table. I have plenty of guns, too. However, I spent all my money on parts, so ammo is in short supply.

Also, I have mucho tools. Anybody needs to do ball joints, axle seals, rebuild a xfer case, rebuild a 10.25 or 10.5 rear end, rebuild a Dana 50, 60 or 110, test vacuum on anything, or check for blow-by (the right way)....I have all the special tools to do so, and can bring them on request.

I have a 7500k generator I can bring if necessary, Chris.

we have a decent generator/welder onsite that i just rebuilt so its nice and happy. i figure we shouldnt need a lot of electricity. we will have air power (Motorbug's onboard compressor) and i can t in a volume tank.

if we need to do any heavy lifting, my tractor with 1/2 yard bucket is onsite.
could use it to lift a bed off pretty easy.

First week, eh? I might actually be around for that....

Mine could use a harpoon, and I've got 6.4 banjos just taking up room in the cupholder, among other things....

I have the socket ordered for the fuel plugs to do the FRx installs. It should be here by the end of next week, or at least before the gtg. The plugs seem to be the "thorn" in doing this project. I can also bring my Super Duty Sucker jar, if anyone needs to pull some fluids from the cylinders, p/s pump, master cylinder, etc. It works like a mini shop vac and does a great job.

Count me in, I plan to be there. I don't plan on doing anything to my truck, but I can bring an air compressor, generator, Jack stands floor jack. also have an AE if needed, I"m not good at using it but I'm learning.
