Tires: BFG KO's, Nitto Terra Grapplers, or Falken Rocky Mtn ATS

Hello all,
The life of my BFG KO's is almost over and I'm shopping for new tires and would like to know your recommendations. When I purchased this truck (used) it had the BFG's on it so I haven't experienced another tire on my '11 CC Lariat (regular bed) and would like to hear what you all have to say.
Thanks,
JD

I recently changed the factory Michelins, only got 38000 miles with religious rotating and pressure monitoring. Tried to get some KO's but here down south, they are backordered for months. Plenty standard Rugged Terrains but no KO's anywhere. I would suspect that BFG is probably planning a model change of some sort and not replenishing inventory. I ended up with the Wrangler DuraTracs. I needed a 75% off-road-use tire and this seemed a good alternative. So far they pull well in nasty ground. Ford dealer beat everybody's price but can't figure out how to get my $60 rebate for me. If you search this forum, you will find 10,000 opinions/recomendations on tires. Good luck.

i have the nitto terra graplers on now about 33k on the tires they are about done. I HATE them i will never run them again, both my brothers run them on their diesels they love em, i dont know i will never put them on my truck again. I think i am going to try the Cooper AT3's i have been seeing them on a lot of diesel trucks lately and have gotten good reviews. just my 2 cents.

If money isn't an option, BFG A/Ts would be my pick!

Went with the Falkens, all 4 with 3 year replacement guarantee from discount tire direct for $1,092 delivered. (275/65r20 - E)

Will report back after I put some miles on them. Was going to go with the BFG's KO's from Costco for $321/ tire installed, but they're on a minimum 10 week backorder and I need new tires yesterday... Hopefully the Falkens are to my liking...

On a side note, I've had great luck with Kumho's in the past on a C6 Vette and an Escalade, but they don't make them in the size I need.

Thanks guys for the input.

Are your referring to A/T KO's?

Another BFG at ko vote here. Only problem I see is if you want to upsize your tires some and remain load range E rated.

Yes. I have run them on a lot of things. Got nearly 60k miles out of the ones on my 06 250.

They are just too pricey for a 20" wheel.

They are expensive up front but if they are capable of averaging 60,000 miles before replacement vs. 30 or 40, 000 that most other brands are averaging then they actually are a good value.
I have no experience with the BFG's but am seriously considering them based on the mileage others are reporting.

I don't know how people are getting 60k out of a tire, ANY tire for that matter. frankly I have never seen a tire last close to that long. 45k is about the most I have seen out of any tire including car tires. BFG KO's are a good tire but they are not the longest wearing. for some reason the super duty is very very hard on tires. I am getting at least 20% less tire wear than I got with my dodge. I am either buying used tires or getting tires with a mileage warranty from now on. my BFG's went 30k but I really ran than 5k longer than they were actually good for. so they were toast in 25k. the last 5 sets I ran out on dodges went about 36k before replacement to give you an idea.

This will really make you nuts cowboy. We just replaced the tires on our 2011 6.2 gasser. We got 82,000 out of the stock michelins. They weren't even down to the wear gauges.

99% highway miles though, Joel. That's cheating!

Must be the texture of your roads out that way cowboy. Only thing I can think of anyway. I got the Michilins on my 6.7, @ 20 k roughly, and well over half of the tread. My last truck was a 7.3 and got sick of the stock tires at 40 k, still good enough to sell. The BFG mud terrains I replaced them with went 65 k. The BFG all terrains had 55 k on them when I sold the truck with plenty of tread remaining.
