There's lots of guys on here without head studs running 200 sticks and know problem. I'd watch it for a while and check back. If a head gasket lifted you'd know it. Studs is always good insurance but not always necessary. I don't believe Robin had head studs and he puched 486 HP on the dyno. Wish he was still here to report back. God Bless him,

Chet

I wasn't running AE when it happened (I'm taking a break from data overload), but I looked at another data set from a WOT run with this tune: 38-39 PSI EBP (indicated, not absolute). Adjusting the wastegate will get me back down to 30 PSI boost max (33 PSI EBP). I can't say anything more about the tune than it's just the big-power DD. I haven't even opened the shrinkwrap on the race tune... I'm pretty sure Stinky isn't ready for that yet.

2000CA250 holds the same opinion. I wasn't going to fire off any more Buck$Zooka rounds at Stinky mods until he was running right. Now that I know this works, mulling is in order. If I replace head studs, springs will go in as well... because my luck will be having me replace them anyway. Does anybody remember when I asked if I needed new cups when I replaced the injectors the first time?

hydro man 17's recent post on his degas bottle threw another thought at me: This may have been the first time my thermostat opened up since the swap and it brought little gifts up from the bottom. I might be getting (or continuing my habit of being) paranoid. In reflection, I challenge anybody to fault me for being a little jumpy after what Stinky has done for the last few months.

But then again... anybody with OCD (like me) would say something like that.

I highly doubt that 35PSI would have lifted your heads. If you were running 40 or more then yeah, I would agree with the lifted head theory, but if it happened you'd know. It makes a mess, a big mess lol.

I tend to agree with the t-stat opening theory. It makes a lot of sense and explains everything because it would kick up any left over crap that was still in the block from the cracked cup chronicles.

Good one.

OK, I'm climbing down from atop Mount Ing Ten Shun. I just suck at this... I should have done a better job of flushing.

Are you comparing yourself to one of those "environmentally friendly" water-saving toilets that uses MORE water than a regular toilet because it has to be flushed multiple times to finally digest all of its snacks?

You hit the nail on the head with that comment! So true.

Pretty much. It's a conduit for crap and anytime you get within close proximity of it, you'll hear a lot of pi55in' and moanin'.

Rich, just think of all the knowledge you are passing on to others though your chronicles from the school of hard knocks and rattles.
I have learned that I am going to get a good inspection camera all up in my cups when I pull the trigger on a set of stock injectors on my F450, before I send them to their new home.

When that times, let me know if you need the coolant system pressure testing tool.
