Guage pods, who has em?

Are the glowshift pods worth it? I know theyre cheap, but are they junk or just kinda cheap? Also anyone with the autometer pod, worth the price? Cant decide which so i figured some input couldnt hurt.

Just in case, here they are:

my glow shift pod didn't fit all that great. i had to really push it up against the factory pillar and then put the crews in. i am happy with he way it turned out in the end though. i do want to take it back off and paint the pod grey.

Doesnt the pod replace the factory trim where it goes?

No, the pod goes over the trim.
I've had a 3 gauge from glowshift in my truck for a few years. Pictures are in my gallery. I painted it with Rustoleum fabric and vinyl spray, the gray matches the factory trim very nicely. I was able carefully match two of the screw holes on the top to the factory trim holes, then put two on the side.

I just replaced the 3 gauge with a 4 gauge pod I got off someone slightly used. The 4 gauge fits about the same as the 3 gauge. However, I did find out that the pods are shorter in the 4 gauge pod. I have 2 VDO gauges and an ISSPRO pyrometer. I had to trim the mounting brackets down and shorten the screws on the back to allow the gauges to sit flush. I also had to trim down the fitting where the boost tubing attaches on that gauge and barely was able to get the tubing to fit in. I'm not sure if there is much difference in thickness between different manufacturers, but thicker gauges might not fit, or have wiring issues with the 4 gauge pod.

I do have some pictures on my phone showing how the bottom of the glowshift gauges need to be trimmed to fit in my '88 dash. Just haven't had time to get them off the phone and posted.
Also, neither pod is flimsy. They are thick enough plastic to hold the gauges in place just fine, but still flexible enough to bend a little when you need them. Its a little tight running the wires between the pod and the factory trim, and I suppose the trim could be trimmed if needed, but I made it work.

I have the Autometer 3-pod for an OBS that I modified to fit my bricknose. Took a bit of trimming to fit, but I'm fairly pleased with it. My only gripe is that, with 3 gauges, the pod is heavy enough to make the little plastic rivets want to come back out, so I supplemented them by lining the entire edge of the pod with foam mounting tape. Holds pretty well.
