8 lug wheels on 1960 f100

I am confused. I have a 1960 f100 with 8 lug wheels. I believe it is a f250 suspension. I thought the frame was also but the Vin #F10J0R52768 matches the title and according to Vin decoder f100 6 cylinder. Did someone put 3/4 ton suspension on a 1/2 ton frame? Also the rear driver has 9 leafs and rear passenger has 8. The front have 7. Trying to figure out what I have. I have the cab, bed, engine, tranny and front clip off. Thanks for any info offered.

Sounds like just what you said. ... 3/4 ton axles on a 1/2 ton. Sometimes the two have different frame widths so other factors may be involved. 2wd? Straight front axle? What wheels are on it? I have at least two trucks with different amounts of leafs on opposite sides, but have to admit, I'm the culprit. They have to sit level, so I do what it takes (without spending $)

F10 = F100 / J = 223 1V I-6 / 0 = 1960 / R = San Jose CA Assembly Plant / 52768 = 1960 Numerical Sequence of Assembly, the trucks specific serial number.

No F100 of any year came with 8 lug wheels on a 6.50" bolt circle. Should have 5 lug wheels on a 5.50" bolt circle.

Front springs are the same 1957/60 F100/250 2WD, could have either 6 or 7 leaf spring packs.

Rear springs interchange 1957/67 F100/250 2WD. 1957/64: F100's could have 7 or 9 leaf spring packs, F250's could have 7 or 10 leaf spring packs.

1965/67 F100's could have 5, 6 or 9 leaf spring packs. 1965 F250's could have 7, 10 or 11 leaf spring packs. 1966/67 F250's could have 6 or 8 leaf spring packs.

btw: I was confused...once. 1989: While on vacation in WA, driving on I-5, I see a billboard that says "Do the Puyallup" Wondered what the hell does this mean? Found out later it's the local county fair.
