I've got a 5.4L F-250 4x4. It's a solid front axle with leaf springs (I assume all of this year were like that, but for information's sake, there it is). Anyway, a 5.9 Cummins will soon go in, and I'd like some input on upgrading the springs. I know the 5.4 is 500ish lbs where as the 5.9 is more like 1k. So, if I'm looking for more weight capacity, what is the best way to go about this? I've seen the "add a leaf" kits, just wondering if anyone has had luck and if that actually ads weight capacity or just lift.. And I don't feel like putting a spring lift on it and then allowing the weight to settle it out would be the right way. Not sure though. Hell, for all I know, they are one in the same.. Let me know all of your thoughts. Thanks.
The X code will fit under the gas? That's one of the things I meant to ask, but forgot... will a set of diesel springs fit in the gas, or do they line up differently?
