X2

An EGR on a diesel doesn't make much sense considering not only the soot, but the fact the EGR needs to be cooled.

I did the stealth delete yesterday.

Exactly^^^ there is More Molicules or whatever to burn the colder the air thus we have a CAC System and EGR cooler to cool air as much as possible

Having a EGR is a Detune basicaly

it works Better for a Gasser but unleaded burns cleaner

Instead of using a kit to completly delete the cooler you can weld up an existing cooler and re-install.

If you don't have emissions you can get away with the kits.

I currently do not have diesel emissions testing, but there is talk of starting so I figured to go the stealth delete since an inspector will look under the hood and at least see I have a cooler installed even though it doesn't work.

I live in Manitoba Canada, no emissions testing, I am planning to delete the egr, which kit is best, I am not doing it myself, I have a mechanic that will do it.
How many hours does it take to do a delete for a guy who knows what he is doing? Just wondering how much its going to cost all in total.

If you pay someone to dig in that deep, to replace the egr cooler, I would spring for the oil cooler as well. They are all pretty similar, you replace the passenger uppipe, then the kit has a redirect pipe for the coolant. Whatever kit you find make sure it has spring clamps for the coolant line, screw type will leak over time. Basic 03-07 Ford 6.0L Powerstroke Diesel Solution

If you delete the EGR system, then it is adviseable to run a tune to account for the change in the combustion control programs.

Don't forget the fan control also. Talk of obd ll testing to come. Tunes will then show up and if factory tune is re-installed then all of the problems of no tune will show up.

If the EGR and cooler didn't have so many issues on these trucks I wouldn't be so apt to delete it, but because of these issues, delete for sure. If you delete just make sure you have a programmer to take care of the CEL and to make sure the fan works correctly.

I have 120k and have seen no issues w/ my EGR system - many people tell the same story. An EGR delete is absolutely NOT an essential mod (I won't debate on the wisdom of it - that is a personal opinion). Yes, it can help remove weaknesses in the design and OEM components, but the 6.0L can be reliably operated for the intended life of the engine (whether you are tuned or stock) - which is well over 300k miles - with an intact EGR system.

^^^^^^^ What Mark said. I too have no deletes and have had zero problems. Maintenance in my op. is the key. That and OEM filters and fluids.

I am on the keep the stock system side, with appropriate maintenance. It does improve combustion, cooling the combustion chambers, although I doubt the horror stories about burning exhaust valves. Places are going to OBDII testing instead of emission testing, and while it's easy to delete a tune, it's hard to un-delete an EGR cooler. Plus, if you just monitor the delta, clean the valve when appropriate and change them out when they need it, the stock system can run, for most owners, for the life of the truck.

I personally as well see zero reason to delete the EGR. There is no real problem with it. Pay attention to maintenance and you are good to go.

I've run 6.0's to 300k with original coolers twice now. It's just fine...
