Instead of using a kit to completly delete the cooler you can weld up an existing cooler and re-install.
If you don't have emissions you can get away with the kits.
I currently do not have diesel emissions testing, but there is talk of starting so I figured to go the stealth delete since an inspector will look under the hood and at least see I have a cooler installed even though it doesn't work.

I live in Manitoba Canada, no emissions testing, I am planning to delete the egr, which kit is best, I am not doing it myself, I have a mechanic that will do it.
How many hours does it take to do a delete for a guy who knows what he is doing? Just wondering how much its going to cost all in total.

Don't forget the fan control also. Talk of obd ll testing to come. Tunes will then show up and if factory tune is re-installed then all of the problems of no tune will show up.

I have 120k and have seen no issues w/ my EGR system - many people tell the same story. An EGR delete is absolutely NOT an essential mod (I won't debate on the wisdom of it - that is a personal opinion). Yes, it can help remove weaknesses in the design and OEM components, but the 6.0L can be reliably operated for the intended life of the engine (whether you are tuned or stock) - which is well over 300k miles - with an intact EGR system.

I am on the keep the stock system side, with appropriate maintenance. It does improve combustion, cooling the combustion chambers, although I doubt the horror stories about burning exhaust valves. Places are going to OBDII testing instead of emission testing, and while it's easy to delete a tune, it's hard to un-delete an EGR cooler. Plus, if you just monitor the delta, clean the valve when appropriate and change them out when they need it, the stock system can run, for most owners, for the life of the truck.
