Sorry, can't help you there. But I think you mentioned the key element...that is, it "looks stock." I've read where some guys go to the Ford AIS intake simply because it is a factory retro-fit and has all of the Ford labeling on it. I know some guys have to go to the extent of putting back OEM "stuff" once a year to get their inspection. Do you have it chipped? If so, you may want to pull that and put it back to stock settings.
I'm sure someone will chime-in here soon for you...
Pull the chips and try the 2 with factory look intakes first.
If they pass put the stock looking intakes on the other 2 trucks.
Rinse & repeat kinda deal.
I have a similar issue. I have an AFE air filter/intake AND intake manifold. Filter/intake is CARB approved, with sticker, but the manifold is not. Have DP tuner as well but that can be removed easy, manifold not so much. At least not for me anyways. Local shop owner told me when he did my oil cooler job that after market stuff is OK when "under review" until it is not approved and that he has a couple of guys that go by that concept. (NE cal BTW) Don't know if this is true or not but I have until June to find out.
mIKE
Alll 4 are chipped, 2 have DIY 6637 intakes, 2 have aftermarket legal intakes, and 1 has the 38r turbo

Not necessary. Any and all aftermarket intakes and exhaust systems have been ok'd by CARB for use on diesel engines.
I stole that from Stewart and i can't seem to fin where he got it from but he had posted it in another thread about Ca. smogs.... I will do some digging for you and perhaps Stewart will also chime in.

Do you still have the link to that PDF available?
