I'm guessin' you've been talkin' to the same mob I used for my GVM Uprade to 5,000kg and recommended you contact them?

The 'Ginger' (Gingerbeer (Engineer)) had no hesitation for my upgrade as soon as he inspected the truck. He noted the upgraded heavy duty ARB Springs front and rear, the OME Nitro Shocks. He wasn't over concerned about me having the bigger 305 75R 16 Load range 'E' tyres as he would have been happy with the stock size of 265 75R 16 'E' and noted that on the compliance plate 'Tyres - No Change'. The only thing noted on my upgrade compliance plate is 'Upgraded Suspension' for a 5,000kg GVM.
I only went in to get an upgrade to 4,495kg, but on inspection said he would give me 5,000kg if I wanted so I did .

I already had a full truck licence, so the missus went and did a Light Ridged Truck Licence test without any dramas.

The GVM upgrade in no way changes the towing capacity of 4,500kg or the GCM of 9,072kg. This is because the Towing capability of a vehicle is mainly calculated on the mechanics of the drive chain, chassis and the braking capacity.

Can I ask how much your rego went up when you went to 5000kg rather than staying at 4495kg?

Here in QLD, my normal rego is abour $1120, but if I go to 5000kg, it will be about $1950. Ouch!!!

 

$1120 a year for ya F250 No way and they have the *****t!est roads in australia..

$580 here in vic fark im not moving too QLD then rip off ******

My Vic rego will increase from $600 to $1200 when the GVM goes above 4.5t. Good news is that my insurers don't care about the change - I was sure they would be next in line for a handout..

 

Yep, I think QLD has the dearest rego in Oz. that does include the compulsory 3rd party that is a part of all regos.

Even my wife's 4cyl Camry is close to $700.

 

We pay more when your vehicle has more cylinders. So a 4cyl is about $700, a 6cyl is about $900 and 8cyl and up is about $1100.
Such a rip off.

The current cost is $1143 here in SA.
