Swap stock plug wires for longer ford racing 9mm wires?
I just performed this questionable act on my 460, all the while telling myself that the wires will not work and this is a bad idea.
I kept on anyway and fired it up to check my mad scientist work, and it actually seemed to run smooth.
Before I go any farther and run it like this, I want to know if anyone has ever done this with success, or should I replace the stock wires?
The reason I got these wires is because I was doing the rest of the six liter tune up. I had already advanced my base timing to about 13 degrees BTC when I rebuilt my motor last year.
Other goodies I added as part of the six liter job
-MSD streetfire coil
-MSD dist. cap and rotor
-New autolite 25 copper plugs gapped to .053(I didn't want to over-do it with the gap)
Advice?
