Took the Dent up to my Local Mechanic Friend and asked him to replace the rear main seal for me. Well I got a call from him about 6 hours after I dropped it off to him and he told me that when My Son and I put the Intake Manifold on that we didn't put enough Sealant in the back of the Intake Manifold and there was oil pouring out the back of it!!! LOL Well guess what wasn't leaking!!! Yeah you got it the rear main seal. So I am posting this OH CRAP so that all you guys that do this in the future make sure you have enough sealant on the surfaces when you put your intake manifold back on. You cant believe how good this thing runs now... OH YEAH, It only cost me $377 dollars to learn this lesson...

My Wife's responce was just think of how nice of a gift (Valentines Day) you could have got me if you didn't screw up putting on the Intake Manifold!!! Talk about beating someone when they are down...LOL
I almost went through the same thing when my oil pressure sender started leaking. It runs down the back of the engine and looks just like the rear seal leaking. That’s why I always caution anyone that is posting for info on changing out the rear seal to check the oil pressure sender first to make sure its not coming from there.
Haha .... don't feel like the Lone Ranger there ....
My '77 351m was leaking badly too .... I had been sure for last couple years that it was the rear main seal .... a couple months ago I replaced the plastic tubing from the tee at the oil pressure sender unit that also runs my mechanical gage .... now there doesn't seem to be a leek under the rear of the motor.
